HISTORY

The church was founded in 2014 by Pastor Moses Kyenda. On the 4th of April 2011, he began to preach in the trains. This continued for about a year until he met a lady who later invited him to work at the Woolworths branch in the Waterfront. He accepted the job offer. On the first day, she told him that there was a small prayer room and asked if he would like to use it during his break times. He was delighted at the news and accepted the offer. Along with other people who utilised the prayer room, they prayed together frequently. Eventually, the break time prayer sessions turned into nights of prayer. It was around that time that he met his spiritual father.

Although they were mainly conducting prayer nights, their small group grew in numbers. They managed to find a place of worship but soon had to close down due to a particular storm. After six months, they resumed their work on the 11th of November 2014. They finally launched the ministry, which continues to this day. In 2015, Pastor Kyenda decided to serve God full time. He resigned from his job and dedicated himself fully to the work of God.

From humble beginnings in Cape Town, the ministry has grown into a vibrant, multi-branch church in Cape Town, South Africa. Today, it continues to thrive under Pastor Moses' visionary leadership, touching hundreds of lives through discipleship, outreach, and leadership development, with a vision to impact the entire African continent.

CHURCH VISION

When God called Pastor Kyenda, it was very clear to him that God wanted him to transform lives with His word. Because there are many people of different colors, cultures, languages, and countries who are affected by circumstances, oppressions, divorce, and loss of parents, these circumstances have created a certain kind of philosophy in their minds. This philosophy has imposed a certain kind of life that they do not necessarily wish to have.

Therefore, he concluded that it is better to transform people's minds by teaching them leadership. Everyone is responsible for their own life. God created everyone to be a leader according to the book of Genesis 1:26. So, the church's responsibility is to teach people so that they can become leaders who can transform their families, communities, and countries.

The vision of this church is making the name of God great by transforming followers into leaders, with the uncompromising word of God.

CHURCH NAME

The name of the church is Life Giving Faith Ministries International. This name is taken from 1 Corinthians 15:45. It is linked to the vision of the church and the message that God has given Pastor Moses Kyenda. When people are broken and confused, they are able to receive life by hearing the word of God. Indeed, if anyone sits in this church for only 3 months, they will definitely see changes in their lives as a sign that they have received life.

"Then God said, 'Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.'" - Genesis 1:26

"And so it is written, 'The first man Adam became a living being.' The last Adam became a life-giving spirit." - 1 Corinthians 15:45
